About
Nameste 🙏🏻 I’m jainam. This is my small home on the internet — a place for things I build, things I learn, and things I probably spent too much time thinking about.
I’m a software engineer. I like building things that are fast, simple, and thoughtfully made. I care about the details — the architecture underneath, the interface on top, and all the tiny decisions in between that make software feel good to use.
I’m especially interested in AI, systems, the web, Apple platforms, design, and understanding what’s happening a few layers below the abstractions I use every day.
Outside the editor
My curiosity is somewhat poorly contained.
A question about compilers can somehow end with me reading about silicon. Looking at an airplane can turn into a conversation about gravity. Light leads to photons, photons lead to quantum mechanics, and at some point I’ve forgotten what the original question was.
I like understanding not just how things work, but how we figured them out in the first place.
Music occupies an unreasonable amount of my brain. I’m an Anjuna boy at heart, with plenty of room for Pink Floyd. I’m drawn to music that takes its time — melodies that build, breathe, and eventually make you feel something you can’t quite put into words. Some songs are entertainment. The best ones feel more like places you can return to.
I grew up in Bombay, which probably deserves some credit for my inability to sit still intellectually.
Outside of work, I follow curiosity wherever it happens to go — science, history, spirituality, design, cooking, or something I knew absolutely nothing about three hours ago. I’ve also been hopelessly attached to FC Barcelona since I was a kid, for better or worse.
I have a particular weakness for questions that start small and get existential surprisingly quickly. This website is where some of those rabbit holes will end up.
